Is it possible to go direct to Undergrad program from Olevel

I had come across thread here where it was adviced to go to undergrad program directly after o-levels. This was for overseas study. I guess you can't go to local(SG) uni without A-level
which means you can skip A level & save 2 years. Does US university allows this? If yes, is there any bridging course to be taken,
SAT score would be mandatory , but how does age difference play out. What is rationale for US uni to admit students who are 16 years only

A third issue is time taken to obtain the first degree. If you send your child to US or Canada immediately after her O levels, she can get her first degree before 20. Things can be a little more complicated for boys due to NS, but he'll still be years ahead of his peers. For Australia (and I believe NZ as well), the child can start his / her foundation programme at the uni immediately after O levvels and start their undergrad studies within a year after that. Most would end up being a year or 2 ahead of their peers.

Path ahead is clear to her. She is in Sec3 with History & Pure litrature as subject combination. Languages are her forte ,she want to pursue degree in Psychology.Sooner the better , it is her words
CCA is ELDDS(English langauge & drama)
Very independent & responsible. Is it worth wasting 2 years in singapore A levels

Interesting! Though,..i think it is basically "freedom" to do whatever they want! Though "A" level is tough,..but once through, they will find, University life more manageable.
Most US universities are "broke" ie cutting down on classes & tutors. A friend's daughter had to take all types of subject not related to her field, as the subject class that she wanted are "reserved" for graduating students. Majority of students take the minimum number of required subject in their field to graduate. Even, cheer-leading is a subject credit!

Dadofgirl, I encourage that:-) A level is not necessary. It is not a criteria for US university requirement. The is not much correlation between quality of education and time spent. For example, extremely bright kids in Singapore is allowed to skip one level in primary school. Make your own decision :-)

Thank you for inslight Plc & voilin_lover. We will have to take one step at a time...though. Studying A level here will invlove getting thro' Maths, Physics & Chem which are subjects just managable now & it will require more focus & effort which i guess is not worth if you are not Science student.

Ex-colleague's daughter is currently studying a full time degree programme in SIM and she is admitted using her "O" level results. The degree programme is awarded by University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.

Thank you. That's very useful info. would NUS -Duke college of liberal art follow suit allowing students directly from O levels? Only time will tell!
