Does anyone know how much does it cost to study in a UK university for 1 or 2 year? is it possible to be less than SGD 30k/year?

You need at least GBP 30,000 - 35,000 p.a. Today's exchange rate: about SGD 60,000 - 70,000 p.a.

Thanks. Is it possible for you to break down the cost? Like tuition fees, accommodation all those. My relative is living in UK so wondering how much cheaper will it be living at her house instead of hostels.

Depends on your course and university. You would expect science courses (especially clinical med) to be more expensive than arts courses. Living in London is also more expensive than living in somewhere like Warwick or Durham.

For me (according to my university)
School fees: 13 200
College fees: 6 157
Accommodation (varies depending on type): Approximately 3 900 (can be less)
Food: Estimated 1800
Other living costs (books etc): 1900

Total: Around 27 000 per annum = Around 60 000 SGD. In short, I don't think it's possible to pay less than 30k SGD a year because tuition fee alone is very expensive.

The living costs and accommodation bits are more for UK students. So assuming you want to stay over during vacations, you need to pay more.

I hope this gives you some idea!

If your relative is not staying near the uni, you may need to factor in transportation costs instead.

Well depending on the uni, the overseas tuition fees may differ. For eg

Warwick - non science is about 18,000 pounds p.a.
LSE - is about 16,000 pounds p.a.

This is already over 30,000 SGD p.a. and does not include living, books, meal expenses. So highly unlikely.

Thanks! That's quite detailed. Is is cheaper to study in Australia or UK? I heard that Australia is cheaper but a lecturer told me that UK is cheaper.

Depend on the currency rate. From what I know, last time (>5-6 years ago) studying in UK might be more expensive. But now should be around the same.

For Australia, Cost of Living in Sydney/Melbourne is very expensive. Cheaper in other cities.
