Hmm ok your take is quite a realistic one. Since I qualify for the subject requirements for ajc science ( eg my science got a2, above the requirement of b3, and my AM is a1) And my cca is a1, and I contribute actively to the cca (scouts), with over 400 hours of cip, and I have a leadership role in scouts, though it is not high. what are my chances of appeal being successful via academic?

Appeals are considered based on representation and wins at competition on the national or international level.

Appealing via academic is for students who have represented their secondary school or Singapore in academic related competitions/events/attachments.

For example, winning a national debate competition and/or representing Singapore in the International Russian Debate (must be MOE approved).

Other students that maybe seriously considered for academic appeals includes students who successfully completed special programs such as the ASTAR research program, winners of maths Olympiad, Research studies (Odyssey of the Mind & Science Mentorship program), MOE Bicultural studies programme, MOE humanities programme.

Since you didnt state anything near to any of these, I don't even think your appeal via academic would be successful. It would probably be easier for you to appeal via CCA. Don't think any JC looking for scouts but you can state leadership instead. Still, leadership is highly competitive and they usually prefer outspoken leaders from council/prefectoral broads.
