Important admission questions

Hi, I am completely obfuscated at why certain schools like VJC offers the appeal form before the posting results are released and before the JAE ends. What is the reason behind this? Is there an advantage given if one appeals early (knowing that he may not get into the school through JAE)?

Next, this is a silly question..the form A requires us to complete the worksheet before submitting online. Is there any relevance? Can I not complete it? I'm guessing that since there'a limited time for us to complete the form online so they want us to complete the worksheet first. Just to be extra safe. Is this right?

Finally, can a student appeal to different junior colleges at one go? Will this hamper his chances of appealing? If both appeals are accepted, the student has to reject one of the schools right? Thanks.

I think the one about appealing before JAE results are out, it's best to ask the school directly. I know my school is also accepting appeals from 10 Jan to 31 Jan, but I don't know the rationale behind it, and I don't know how they are going to decide how many appeals they can accept.

The worksheet is just for practice, yes. You don't have to do it if you don't want to.

You can appeal to several schools, but I heard some will only look at your appeal if you had put the school as first choice in JAE. Not sure how true this is, but appeal forms usually do ask for your first choice and second choice schools. If the school appears in neither choices, I guess it's logical that they do not want to entertain such appeal cases. But nothing stops you from appealing.

If both appeals are accepted, you can reject one or even reject both. Ultimately, it's really your call.

Check with Schools such as AJ and CJC and was told to appeal only after posting. Can u advise me which school is accepting appeal now. Base on my result I would definitely need to appeal.

I think you should work the other way round. Decide which JC you are interested to go, then check with those JCs and see if they're accepting appeal now.

Well then you can appeal after posting. Just that you will need to do it very quickly since the window period for appeal is usually very short.

Has anyone sent an email to the institutions that accept appeals now? If so, what is their reply?

I heard that some JCs have conducted appeal interviews already (last Friday and Saturday) and made offers. So you may be too late. Of course, it helps if you have connections and appeals will be a breeze. That said, being able to cope/keep up in the chosen JC once you are accepted is a more important issue to address. All the best!

I think the appeal interviews apply to DSA phase 2 students, and not all JCs offer DSA phase 2. @ the connections part, lol. where has meritocracy gone to?!
