from JC to Poly?

Hi everyone,

I just applied for Singapore Poly and Ngee Ann Poly for these following courses. Bracketed part is the cut-off point required -

SP, Choice 1. Biomedical Science(8). 2. Biotechnology(10). 3. Banking and Finance(11)
NP, Choice 1. Biomedical Science(9) 2. Molecular Biotechnology(10)

I obtained 6 distinctions in my O levels, got posted to a JC and I realised that since I alr know I am gonna do bio in uni anyways, I'd rather skip the need to do subjects like GP and the contrasting arts and enjoy my education the next 3 years rather than suffer this 2 years.

My L1R4 raw score is 8 points, HOWEVER my CCA got D7. I submitted my appeal earlier today and both schools only required my official O level result slip as well as my CCA records and that's all. What are the chances?

Both poly will welcome you with open arms. Your chance in either NP or SP is super super good in biomedical science. There are some or few students with super good results in biomedical or molecular biotech course. These students know what they want to persue in UNI and go for it.

Forget about CCA, it is not counted in the subject combination. You don't need that 1 pt or max 2 pt CCA bonus deduction after all you have have 6 A1 (or A2) and your COP for L1B4 is 8 points. My daughter is also in NP Biomedical science.

Really? May I know if you work as part of the admissions team in either of the polytechnics? I hear everybody telling me I'll make it to at least one of the 6 courses I applied for - I applied for Veterinary Bioscience as my third choice in NP via the online appeal. Anyway, all of these courses (except bfs) would give me up to a year exemption in NTU's biological sciences, which is also the course I plan to do in future.

I hope my CCA records won't seem like a turn-off for both schools and the respective faculties.. I actually transferred JC this monday and my new uniform is still on hold up until Wednesday so if I don't get any notification by then I need to get the new uniforms already :gloomy:
