My DS will be taking his O level this year and recently his sec sch has issued a small booklet to all the students about admission to their affiliated CJC. Inside the CJC booklet, it stated their cut-off point, which is 10 (Art) & 10 (Sc) for YR2018 intake.

Meaning those link eg. below 10 (Art) & 11 (Sc) is not accurate?

For Science stream : does it mean Catholic Junior College had raised her standard, up the bar, for 2018 intake, from 11 points to 10 points ?

(All affiliated Secondary school students, from the various Catholic Secondary schools, may want to take note of "up the bar")

Referring to the CJC website, it states that,
"To qualify for 4 H2 subjects, students must obtain 10 points or better for their L1R5 aggregate ('raw score')..."
http://cjc.moe.edu.sg/admission/subject ... tions-2017

So I suppose this is also the indication that their cut-off points is 10 points (for both Art & Sc), not 11, and they are talking about "raw score"

Entry academics (from O level subjects) for A level getting demanding now : CJC had raised up the bar

Her entry requirements standard : went up

for Science stream -
If Eunoia JC entry point is 9 points, for JAE students, then CJC at 10 points requirement (Raw score) is very close to that of Eunoia, close to Temasek JC, and close to Nanyang JC Entry requirements.

Obviously, CJC is trying her best to close up the gap, with these few JCs' entry Cut-off-point

Previously, affliated students from various Catholic Secondary schools with L1R5 score of 12 points : can still enter CJC at 10 point Cut-off-point, because these affliated students are given "2 bonus points discount".

However, with this new annoucement, since CJC stated that "MUST obtain 10 points or better, for their L1R5 aggregate ('Raw score') , does it mean that an affliated O-level student with 12 points, cannot go back to study at CJC anymore : since 12 points had already exceeded CJC minimum 10 points, in fact Not even meeting CJC requirement ?

I believed still can enter. Just that those with raw score of above 10 can only qualify for 3 H2 & not 4 H2 subjects.

You mean among the entry point of 9.. Eunoia, Temasek and St. Andrew?
Coz Nanyang cut-off points for Science is 6 points.

They could be referring to the old JAE booklet (Pg 100) based on 2016 JC1 intake and not the 2017 JC1 intake
