Dear JC-2 Parents,

Though it is bit early , tot of starting this thread for Singapore's 4 universities for next term. Boys can wait 2 years , but it is important for Parents of Girls to know what are options

Those who are taking Physics as H2 subject at A -levels

-NUS Engineering Courses
-NTU Engineering Courses
-SMU Business /Accountancy/Computer Tech courses
-SUTD Architecture, Master of Industrial Design, Information Tech courses

Those who are not taking H2 physics at A-levels

- NUS ARTs Program
- NUS MEdicine , Dentistry & Pharmacy Courses
- SMU Law, Humanities & Ecomonics program
- SUTD ARTs
-NTU Arts
-Yale -NUS Arts program

Those taking Physics surely can take ARTs program , but this is to broadly classify what programs you could aim for.

Anything i miss...is Fifth uni already operational?
Kindly add & make list complete
Cheers

SIT and UniSIM are also operational and enrolling undergraduates, although UniSIM is more for mature students.

Just a question - why use Physics as the dividing criteria?

Could not find any other simple criteria of diving Cohort in two groups... Else it will be multiple qualifying Criteria with multiple course for each.
Wish to provide rough options ( i know now... why ... I was talking to a Parent whose son is taking Chem, Bio , Maths & Econs & still aiming for Engineering courses!!!......)

I am tagging on this thread as I don't want to start a new one.

Do parents give allowance to their Uni children ( even if they have side income)?

If yes, roughly how much per month?

Thanks.

For Business / Accountancy and Comp Tech courses, why only SMU? Should include all the others as well. Likewise for law and medicine. Might be good just to list programs instead of uni since similar programs from different uni would have similar requirements. Some programs such as Maths, Science and Education are missing from the list.

I believe a number of engineering courses require either a H2 Physics OR a H2 Chemistry such as Biomedical engineering, Civil engineering and Computer engineering of NUS. Although 'O' level pure Physics is probably a prerequisite.
