A few reasons:
1. Only Ng Eng Hen tabulated the data during his term (2007-2011). Subsequently, MOE stopped tabulating...
2. No, MOE didn't stop tabulating, but the figure of people getting into AUs during HSK's era had gone up, i.e. fewer people are going to polys/overseas institutions/out to work but are still going for conventional uni route. And that seems to go against what his new stat board is preaching: don't chase after paper, paper isn't the be all and end all, go for lifelong SkillsFuture, etc.
3. Dr LWK's strategic framing of his PQ. Did he only request MOE for that range?

:siam:
Assuming 2011 refers to the A level batch, then they would have been able to apply for local uni for 2012 intake onwards.
The boys would be in the 2014 intake...maybe they have data up to 2014, or 2015 for those who spent another year redoing A level...maybe only...

Btw, how many years can they spend in JC? 4? Repeat Y1 n Y2?
Very possible, if there's a 3 yr lag before they could extract the male intake data in their year of matriculation.

I just thought the range was interesting as it maps squarely onto one term of office (2007-2011). Dr LWK had asked for data "in the last 5 years".

Think those who retook as pte candidates after Yr 2 may be treated as negligible. The minority that were retained in Yr 1 would have been computed w the following year's batch.

Btw, this piece of news didn't gain traction as it's just another routine reporting in Parl by minister in charge.

like some have said, the rest just picked other tertiary routes: overseas unis, polys, etc. Not very newsworthy if u think about it. Wasn't even up on MOE website as of yesterday.

4 years max, although repeating JC 2 is at the college's discretion. You will probably have to fail almost all your subjects at A level exam while maintaining good grades during normal school term to have a chance of repeating.
I always think the max is 3 years, either repeating JC1 or JC2 once only?
