A number of the jcs have posted news article of their A level results on their school website including DHS, HCI, NJC, RI, RVHS, SAJC, TJC, VJC. Most of the articles stressed on holistic achievement of their students.

RI has a record number of 10 who scored distinctions for 13 units. Overall statistics seem as impressive as previous years. Well done!

DHS has interesting writeups on the profiles of some of their top scorers.

A total of 1240 students at Raffles Institution (RI) sat for the 2012 GCE 'A' Level Examinations. This is the fourth cohort to complete the six-year Raffles Programme (RP), the through-train programme offered by RI and Raffles Girls' School. It is also the sixth cohort of students offering the revised 'A' Level curriculum introduced in 2006. Out of this cohort, 75% were from the Raffles Schools, while 25% joined RI through the Joint Admissions Exercise.

Even before the release of the ‘A’ Level Examinations results, 45 students have received provisional scholarships from the various scholarship agencies, such as the PSC, A*STAR and GIC.

53 students have been offered places at Cambridge University, and 39 at Oxford University. This is one of the highest, if not the highest, number of students from a single institution offered places at Oxford and Cambridge in the world. 28 students have also received early decision offers from top US universities such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Stanford. Overall Performance of the Class of 2012

A record-breaking 10 students who offered 13 units of study scored distinctions in all of their 9 subjects.

One in two students offering four H2 subjects scored distinctions in all four subjects. Two out of three students scored three H2 distinctions in the content-based subjects.

129 students achieved distinctions in all subjects offered. Rafflesians continue to excel at the General Paper, with one in two students scoring distinctions.

In addition, 27% achieved perfect University Admission Points of 90. The University Admission Score is computed based on a maximum score of 90 points, and takes into account General Paper or Knowledge and Inquiry, Project Work, three H2 and one H1 content subjects.

The class of 2012 achieved exceptional performances across various subjects.

• 9 in 10 students scored Distinctions for Knowledge & Inquiry.

• 8 in 10 students scored Distinctions for Biology, Literature and Music.

• 7 in 10 students scored Distinctions for Art, Geography, History, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

The following is the breakdown of the number of distinctions obtained by our students:

• 9 Distinctions: 10 students

• At least 8 Distinctions: 88 students

• At least 7 Distinctions: 282 students

• At least 6 Distinctions: 543 students
