8 Junior Colleges are Merging? Rumors or Reality?

Was sent this by my boy's math tutor. I am worried as i had hopes of my boy doing his A Levels at Serangoon JC which is a couple of bus stops away from my home.
Now it appears that they will merge with Anderson JC and move to the Anderson JC campus in AMK.
Can anybody help to confirm?

Imagine u stay in tampines, studying at meridian JC.
Now all merge into Anderson Jc, so those staying in tampines have to travel down to Anderson Jc, far

What you talking about?
Serangoon JC merge with Anderson JC, using Anderson Premise.
Meridian and Tampines JC using Meridian premise lah.

8 JCs merge to 4, not 8 to 1.

They said take effect in Year 2019, so 2 more years fr now

Never say after merger, got downsize or not. If there's downsizing, intake will drop...
More O level grads to be channelled to polytechnics is it huh? Just a shift of the bell curve, your B3 becomes B4.

Says no teachers or staff will be retrenched. I assume cohort size will also increase slightly (?).
I think more O level grads (and better quality ones) moving towards polytechnics (mainly by choice) have been happening for a number of years already. The COP of the polytechnic courses have been dropping gradually and the number of courses offered by our polytechnics have also increased.
