My kid is getting a raw score of 13 with 1 bonus point and staying at woodland. He was telling me his choice are limited to SRJC, YJC, IJC & PJC, JJC and TPJC. Out of all the 6, IJC is the nearest follow by YJC and both cop is 20.

He went to JJC yesterday but didnt like the sch and thinking of PJC with cop of 16. However, now he was thinking to go to SRJC as the cop is exactly 13 and from what we see, the cop was getting lower and lower over the recent years. Can see from here JC Cut Off http://www.squidoo.com/jc-cut-off

So do you guys think SRJC is getting better and is an ideal choice for him despite the travelling distance.

By the way, how come some JC cop is constant whereas SRJC is getting so much lower over the past few years and getting close to CJC.

SRJC is a good school.

My friend scored 89 rank points for her A's (almost perfect score, just 1 point away). She's a student with an illness known as Keratoconus and was absent for many days. In fact, she even had a cornea transplant in her JC life, causing her to miss a lot of lessons.

And it is indeed difficult to catch up on lessons once you miss one because JC life is extremely fast-paced. She still managed to score almost all A's for her H2 bio, chemistry and mathematics and also for her h1 economics.

SRJC has constantly improved too. So i believe it is worth considering

Advice on choosing Serangoon Junior College (SRJC)

  • Quote

Post by stsl » Mon Jan 12, 2015 11:22 pm

Dear all

DD got 10 points. We are looking at going to SRJC as this would be the nearest JC. Anyone has any comments on this school regarding the school culture, environment or teachers? This school has an entry point of 11 last year and looks like it's doing well. Would be best if there is current or past students from this JC can advise us.

Thanks

The cut-off point for SRJC appears to be 12. It is getting better and better.

Distance is an important factor in choosing schools, so I am of the opinion that you are making a good choice.

Anyone has anything to share about SRJC? Can be about the school's culture, discipline, performance, strength, weakness, principal, teachers, CCAs, amenities, environment, canteen, project work, subjects combination, and etc.

Please share. Thanks.

The school's strength lies in its staff's caring and dedicated nature. The teachers are always ready to help and hold consultations sometimes up till 9pm! Even the admin staff and the canteen vendors are super nice and friendly. The school strongly believes in bringing each other up so the students, teachers and the rest of the staff is always willing to bring out the best in every student in terms of academic as well as other talents. The amount of effort put in by the school is incredulous and srjc is the best for gaining the best out of the 2 years that the students are ther. events such as will run, thanksgiving concert and many such events are absolutely commendable. Every teacher will do their best in supporting your child to excel. The facilities are also very advanced so it is a really amazing jc. The weakness mainly lies in it's image among the sec students and parents as many of them think that the school is not as good as others such as SAJC and MJC. It has really continuously improved for the past 10 years and continues to improve further. Other than that, I am not sure of any other weaknesses.

Here are some strengths of Serangoon JC. Firstly, Serangoon JC has VERY and I mean VERY strict school rules. They deal with latecoming VERY SERIOUSLY. 4th time call parent, 5th time voluntary community work, 6th time conferencing with parent, 8th time suspension. Secondly, Serangoon JC takes CCA very seriously. CCA is compulsory for all students. Skipping CCA will result in disciplinary action.

Hi, I would like to know how students find the 2016 A level GP and Chemistry paper 2?
How well do you think the teachers have prepared you?
I would appreciate any input.
TIA.
