Let me start the ball rolling....

This morning I opened my eyes up to sounds of euphonic giggles all around me. The first thing I saw was a 7-11 plastic bag in her hands and a beaming large face loomed before my eyes. I rubbed my eyes and looked at her quizzically.."Yes?? darling?" She started to rattle as usual when given a chance to release her vocals.

"Open it Mum!! I did it last night and some bit this morning!" she cackled like a little hen. "Last night??" I thought, how was it possible when she was with me most of the time till bedtime? I was baffled.

When I unveiled the pressie from the 7-11 bag which I then realised was a wrapper for her "secret" gift.... First impression to hit me was my sweetie is a true-blue recycling princess...if not careful...potentially a "garang guni" princess in the making.. Next was this I had from her own creations......a life-size ICE-CREAM!!!
     I was only looking for one-scoop ice-cream and she gave me two scoops!

Somehow kids are never wrong with their simple messages.
Better take her advice and rest more.

wow ksi... ur little princess is very artistic ah .... it's so well made!

i reminded my son that he should draw a card for mummy... but he forgot abt it when he went to my mum's place...

i managed to salvage the situation by getting my wife a new fragrance and gift sets on my sons' behalf

Thanks Zack, she is an amateur in art, once in a while, creativity strikes type, nothing to shout about. It's her effort that touches me alot.

At least like what Augmum says, you are a thoughtful dad to salvage the situation for your son. :salute:

I was working late on Fri nite and DH came to pick me with the 2 kids. The minute that I got into the car, DD excitedly pushed me a paper bag. Inside the bag, there was a handmade heart in a vase which she wanted me to display in my office,

a small cupcake that they baked in school, and two Happy Mother's Day cards - one in Chinese and one in English.

This is the English card:

I just love to read what she writes, as these are words that truly come from her heart... so touched to read that she would take care of her brother whenever I am not around (the two always fight with each other!) and to bring me for a holiday when she grows up.

DS on the other hand, gave me a card (complete with 2 lip-prints  ) and a craft with his handprint.

I love his handprint crafts, like this one which was from last year (unfortunately, one of the fingers had been torn off by the kids  ). Now I can see how much he has grown in the last one year!

All these on top of a card that DD had made for me last week, after collecting some seashells from the beach.

Thanks Augmum and ksi... DW is still the mum of my boys, so whatever it is.. Must do something la. DS1 was ermm a little nonchalant... Told DS1 that it was to be a secret and all he needed to do was to make a card and doodle some words and signed by both him and his baby brother... I was to get the gift to go with the card... Ended up he said he forgot... So I ended giving the gift to my wife without their card

Hahaha actually had wanted to get a Hermes scent for her, but as I walked into Takashimaya, the sales lady for Versace fragrance was adamant on making her first sale of the day... kept asking me to smell their fragrances... Anyway the scent that they launched yesterday lingered around my nostril... Sweet floral scent... Very nice smell... Plus they were giving away gift sets to "beef" up the gift... So ended up buying that instead :)

Thankfully DW likes the scent too... and commented that she was thinking of changing some of her fragrances too... So it was appropriate *phew*

Hahah actually I was thinking of a small simple diamond for her necklace... Anyway the cheapest one that looks decent and worth buying was in the range of $3K :!: ... I will leave my boys to get it for their mum when they grow up... Not gonna blow that amt on their "behalf" :P

So it was either wallet or fragrance and of cos i chose the latter :)

Hahaha.. so buds_hubs was in late ah... I thot your mother's day "gift" would be one that comes out of your tummy :P ... I believe you have trained your little darlings well... I should think that they did not need any prodding to do something for you today :)

Oops sorry tankee... wonder if I created too many unnecessary off-topic postings in this thread?

Btw, busymum... Your DD is really sweet... Think that is the difference between boys and girls? Girls tend to be more "sensible" compared with boys of the same age? And yes I like your DS' palm (minus one finger) printed card :celebrate:
