I have watched 宫锁心玉 and 步步惊心. Must say the quality is quite good and of high standard. Very enjoyable.

I think their 古装戏 is better than their 时装戏. Tried some 时装戏, don't really like and gave up after a few initial episodes.

According to DD, this is the 2nd time she heard about some phrase like '我不杀伯仁，伯仁因我而死" etc from the China 古装戏.

The 1st time she heard about this phrase was from 倚天屠龙记 two years ago

Now she likes the new phrase of '既来之,则安之'.

Brenda, your DD must be pretty mature to be able to appreciate '既来之,则安之'. Easier said than done, but if one is more willing to accept fate and tries one's best in whatever situation, life can be much happier!

I have watched 宫锁心玉 and 步步惊心, now I am watching 宫锁珠帘. But i like 步步惊心 the best cos there are so many nice beautiful verses instead of those normal plain chinese words. I even google online to find out what these verses means. i like these verses such as
第一最好不相见，如此便可不相恋,
第二最好不相知，如此便可不相思　
第三最好不相伴，如此便可不相欠
　　第四最好不相惜，如此便可不相忆
　　第五最好不相爱，如此便可不相弃
　　第六最好不相对，如此便可不相会
