Just caught the movie.
Bring your kids to watch it.
Beautiful CG world;environmental theme
They'll enjoy it and maybe learn something from it.

I just watched Avatar last night. It is a very good movie, but I don't think my 5 year old boy can sit through it, its too long for kids his age.

For those who have not heard of the movie, watch the trailer here :

Oh was it good? I find it more like a boys show. Not sure if my gal would enjoy it.

Where in town I can get the cheapest movie ticket rate nowadays? For both weekend and weekday to watch this movie? I usually wait till the DVD is available to watch to cut cost for a big family like mine.

If you have a UOB card, Shaw cinemas has promotion of $6 per ticket with a minium of 2 tickets purchased. Otherwise, with the student pass, most cinemas give you $6 for students.

Back to Avatar, my son been asking to go watch but I am scared of the green/blue creatures. Anyone can share if there are many violent or scary scenes ? Good ending ?

The avatars have feline features with big eyes - not scary at all.
There are fightig scenes - if your son can handle Star Wars - he can handle this.
I won't say more otherwise it may spoil it for everyone else.
PS. I watched it together with my young boys and DW and they all enjoyed it very much.

Don't know your girl's taste in movies though.
