Favourite Chinese TV serials and movies for the family

I'm hoping to improve the standard of Chinese in my home, which should be easy because it's non-existent.
What are your favourite Chinese TV serials? I remember watching a super one that was made in China called 雍正皇朝。 Are there any others around this same quality that have since been made? I would also appreciate any recommendations for movies that are meant for kids/family.

I saw this series on Zou Jin Ke Xue on either Channel 8 or U - finds it interesting. Any idea where to buy the set?

DH found the website UUSEE.COM which has lots of Hong Kong serials etc. You don't have to rent.

I remembered we quite enjoyed 大宅门. Very well made and very well acted.

For entertainment, we watch both korean tv serial from 6-8pm ch U during weekdays.

haha, not sure if i m going off topic here. i watch the 7pm channel 8 show "your hand in mine" with my dd now. although it contains lots of sporean language, i tot its good to expose her to it since she's a sporean. dunno if i m one of the few mummies who would intentionally expose her kid to sporean chinese or singlish?
anyway, my dd loves the show.
she asked me what is a "karang guni" and every night when the show ends, she would whine and say she can't wait to watch the show again
