Rogue One is not Ep VIII. It's a sub-plot within the overarching Star Wars story and the setting takes place in a much earlier timeline just before Ep IV A New Hope. Rogue One focuses on the Rebel Alliance efforts to steal plans to the Death Star. That's why there is no Rey and Finn as they don't exist yet. And Darth Vadar never left. lol

Oh, a standalone story, Epi 3.5 after Revenge of the Sith? That's a tad disappointing. JJ Abrams is not going to tell us if Rey is Luke Skywalker's DD, or Kylo Ren's younger sister aka Han Solo and Leia's other DD, or that female stormtrooper, Captain Phasma's relative? Or perhaps she is a Kenobi? Related to Obi-Wan??
