All About Diamonds

With rising costs and increased learning needs, financing our children's education is no longer a simple walk in the park. Discuss with other parents about how they are managing their finances to cope with their expenses.

Now I'm thinking of buying a diamond Rolex watch!

I've avoided the Bag thread, so I can save some money!!! out of sight, out of mind!

diamonds are forever...a girl's best friend.

diamond rolex watch is practical...can tell time and bling bling to admire.

choosing a date for customary dinner was tough...no 3rd month, no 7th month...hubby and I didn't want sunday. many Saturdays were already booked. for 20 tables, it was hard to find a hotel within our budget.
Consider restaurants then. ;)

Hi. I would like to ask if this is a good buy. So far, only Goldheart has a 4 carat tennis bracelet at only 4k. Others are at least double the price. In-house certificate only.

1. Bracelet A
Price: $4,088 sale from around 10k
Carat: 3.86
Diamonds: 54
Points: 7 points each
Clarity: VS

2. Bracelet 2

$9958, sale from around 25K
Carat: 4.87
Diamonds: 55
Points: 9 points
Clarity: VVS

Only some vague description of the color and clarity. How can we be assured of its claim?

Wow I didn’t know there is such an interesting ‘diamond’ thread in forum here.

On a side note, I have 2 ex-colleagues who would buy a bullion coin or small gold bar for their wife’s birthday every year as they claim this is a ‘better gift than branded bags’ in their opinion. Not sure how the Wife thinks though.

Yes, gold coin / bar are good to keep for investment
imagine last few yrs gold price incr fr $40+ to now $54 (avg) .....
now is quite ex to buy lei , heart pain to afford
Now I also dun buy diamonds - no resale value  - i think swarovski crystal /stones are classy n nice enuff

Buy diamonds fr gold heart is ok & reliable
usually the Single Big stone is more Ex
VVS cut is also better light reflection ( shinier - must be double V for good cut)
colour - anything bet G to H ; i have a single stone colour I - can't see yellow with naked eye /almost colourless- some people dun mind tint of yellow - up to individual - so long not too yellow to me.

Gold is absolutely a good investment.. It's like a land. Every year the value increases.. Although the price of gold can be volatile in the short term, it has always maintained its value over the long term.

ya. I think gold is a better long term investment to diamonds, especially due to scarcity and reusability

My late grandmother invested so much in gold. When she passed away, she gave all her investments to us. The value is much higher after how many years. She did a great job in choosing the right investment.

just curious. how was the gold split amongst the beneficiaries? i assume it's physical gold?
