Friend wants to borrow money

With rising costs and increased learning needs, financing our children's education is no longer a simple walk in the park. Discuss with other parents about how they are managing their finances to cope with their expenses.

When I let a friend borrow money, I see to it he/she can repay but if I know they can't repay me, I'll let them borrow just a small amount so it doesn't hurt that much

if a friend wants to borrow money, I prepare for that person not to return.
agree...just a small amount so that it won't hurt if he/she really doesn't return. what i'm afraid is borrow and return first time. then borrow again but bigger amount.

Some people, when you let them borrow the first time, they will borrow all over again. And will never stop unless you say NO the next time. And some will make you the bad one when don't let them borrow money

Hi, ngl2010!

Don't you forget to think about yourself first. You might be a great help to her but how about you? Would she also do the same thing if you were on her situation. Hope that this piece of advice might help you.

Its really a tough question to consider. My elders (Father and uncle) got burnt badly before, I intend not to lend money as far as possible.

Will be willing to help a close friend in times of need

I find it hard to say no if a friend of mine wants to borrow some cash. I wanted to say no but I have a hard time doing that because I am thinking that they might also say the same thing if I will also be in the same situation.

I have also experience the same thing several months ago. This friend is letting me feel pressured if I would not be able to lend her some cash. I have told my husband about this, and my husband confronted her and telling her at once that it is not my responsibility to look for her means to make her plans successful. After that, I can no longer contact her.

If its a good friend, and he/she is credible. its ok to lend. however, if u know they do not have a good reputation, its best not to bother yourself with unnecessary trouble
