2012 Budget

With rising costs and increased learning needs, financing our children's education is no longer a simple walk in the park. Discuss with other parents about how they are managing their finances to cope with their expenses.

Keep cost of living and inflation under controlled.
The $$ saved from ministers' salaries can be put to better use to help citizens.

My wishlist

- increase casino entrance levy
- increase tobacco tax
- increase corporate taxes on Singapore Pool and the integrated resorts.
- increase road tax for higher cc cars

using the extra revenue from gambling tax & casino levy (and saving from ministers' pay)

- reduce income tax for middle & lower income group
- more subsidies & assistance for lower income group
- more budget for education to improve on teacher student ratio
- reduce corporate tax for companies that have more than 95% Singaporean employee
- more help for those needs long term medical care
- more help for those unemployed to get employed

Help the middle income too when giving subsidy.

Give more subsidy for childcare fees...and make it same for both working and non-working.

Lower the ratio of students to teachers for school.

Allow all old folks to have free healthcare if required.

A sensible balanced budget that will keep the country on a strong financial footing. Higher corporate tax rates and incentives for green initiatives and productivity 'enhancers' for Singaporeans.

Oh yeah, a sensible taxi policy would help....but that ain't budget.

No irresponsible awarding of subsidies, no chronic budget deficits (a-la Greece or Italy), no unsustainable tax regimes, no caving-in to damaging popular demands for political expediency.
