Very irresponsible contractor. HDB registered but malaysian company.

1. agreed to complete renovation project in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, renovation only 20% done.
2. agreed to complete neighbors renovation project in 3 weeks. Still incomplete and neighbours do not dare to leave for their holiday.
3. no work has been done for the past 4 days with no workers in sight. contractor non-contactable.
4. Supply issues.All 4 sets of tiles were originally selected were 'out of stock' Tried to charge $2000 more mid way through the project to buy 'tiles' .
5. No project plans were seen. Original design altered many times (also tried to charge more) , claiming 'tiles were out of stock" 4 times.


this is a contractor from hell. He has completed some projects in the jurong east st 21, Blk 210, and 209. He will collect 50% money upfront and disappear. HE coerced a 3rd floor old lady to renovate her home, and drove her to the atm to redraw money on the spot. Pls Beware.

I am also looking for good and reliable contractor/ID to renovate our house.

Went to Reno forum but seems some contractor/ID has way too many positive feedback (seems too fake to me)

Previously I saw Insider saying that she got a good contractor to do up her mum's house. I pm her for the contact but didn't receive her reply.

You may wanna ask her

I am not in a hurry to renovate my place yet but I did ask for a couple of quotations previously and Heng Yap being one of them..

This is my first time getting a bad review of Heng Yap.. Think it's better for me to take it with a pinch of salt.. Anyway it's likely that we will only start renovations end of next year..

Not sure if it's the same heng yap, our contractor is Hdb license no. Hb-08-2127g
I hope it's a different guy u are looking at! Coz he called us we have been waiting for 3 hrs and he is - sick and at dr; or stuck on cte

Come by 209 jurong east st 21, hip project office . These guys r a different group hired by Hdb ; but these poor folks been getting complains all the time about hengyap.

Anyhow, good luck with the search! No recommendations, but word of mouth always best. And fair prices and a reasonable timeline is a good guy. Don't get the super popular; mega project kind of contractor; they r likely to have u at the bottom of the priority list. Honest; reliable; boss that is not a sales person is the best. Also try to make payment in stages; not 50-50. This can ensure quality of work.

Hey theanswer. If U still cannot find a contractor for your house, I suggest that U have a look at this website, helpguru.sg. They have pretty much everything, from plumbers to general contractor, ID, etc.
