Hello Kiasu Parents,
Do you visit army shops (as in beach road) to buy stuff for yourself/family/kids?
I find most of the army stuff drab coloured and getting something of quality is a matter of chance. Of course prices are not too steep.
What is your experience?
Much kiasu,
Karen

At the end of the day, depends on what you are getting.
The quality is you pay for what you get.

Dont think they offer value for money. Last i went, they didnt have too many customers, hence no economies of scale. Hence prices will not be low

I was looking high and low for a shop to repair my son's torn deuter bag and finally found it there! Well sewn and so cheap ($6 or $8 only if I recall correctly) vs buying a new deuter bag! I am really thankful for these shops!

When you shop at any thrift stores, you have to double check if the quality of the stuff you're buying is good and if it's value for your money. There are things where you can get at a bargain price with the luck of getting a good quality. So it really depends.

Agreed with the sewing shops. They are cheap and fast.

Thrift-store shopping is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Squeezing in a visit when you’re short on time can be done, but if you’re just starting out, I recommend allotting at least an hour to browse so you’re not in a rush.

I think they are neither expensive nor cheap.
Items were sold most of the time around normal price ranges.
