To be clear, no one said the part in bold. You are the one assuming it has been said. The part in underlined is what people are focused on.

Ya, but the cohort is smaller too.
I can recall what I said before clearly.

I have. And I don't think what it says meant what you wrote in your reply (or re-quote). Specifically, I believe the reply was talking about the (assumed?) implications of the aforementioned underlined text; it in no way made any reference to where "the fewer numbers are" (in any group of score range).

Anyways, we can all move on. Have a nice evening.

That's your own assumption too, isn't it.

Just don't think what I have posted called for bold and underlined.

Moved on. Good evening.

I'm making no assumptions about the issue in question. I'll paraphrase:

-Someone said it was presumptuous to assume X.
-I responded with no one actually said X.
-Text was requoted, which seems to be an attempt to say X was said. I believe it is unequivocally clear that the text does not say X. It says Y and somehow it has been assumed or inferred to say X.

Please read very closely as to what X and Y are in the previous replies.

Saw this FB post that says Queensway Secondary School (Express aggregate range 14-17) will be having a slight reduction in their intake for 2023. Whether this due to the smaller Tiger cohort, or due to their needing to have an easier transition to FSBB, is not clear.

I think it is reasonable to expect a slight drop in COP (-1) if the same number of people are interested in the school.

Hi, any idea how affiliation works in terms of priority of posting? does it mean a student with affiliation get priority even if the AL score is higher than another kid who has better AL score but no affiliation?

Hi, any idea how affiliation works in terms of priority of posting?

does it mean a student with affiliation get priority
even if
the AL score is higher than another kid who has better AL score but no affiliation?
Yes

Example

1) Singapore Chinese Girls' Secondary

All SCGS primary school students who choose O-level (SCGS Secondary) track under affliation will enter first, as long as they are able to meet AL 17.
AL 17, happen to be the Affliation Cut off point, for SCGS primary school students.

For external students,
ie. Non-SCGS students,
how to enter O-level (SCGS Girls' Secondary) ?
Well, they will need to meet ....
AL 8 (Cut off point)

This is called the privileged advantage,
of joining a primary school who is affliated to her Secondary.
Note that affliation offer is applicable only for the O-level track. There is NO affliation, for the IP track.

Confirmation ?
Here is school Finder (MOE) 2021 last year P6 batch (born 2009), for O-level SCGS track.

https://www.moe.gov.sg/schoolfinder/sch ... rls-school

2) CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' Secondary

The same thing, apply

All St Nick primary school Girls can go back to their O-level programme under affliation, as long as they are able to meet ... AL 14.

How about, other external students ? To join O-level (St Nick), external students will need to meet AL 9 (Merit).

Here is school Finder (MOE), for St Nick
