NYGH's HMP vs MEP

Unlike entry to Primary Schools, admission into Secondary Schools is based on meritocracy. PSLE results are used as key admission criteria. Discuss everything related to PSLE and selection of Secondary Schools here.

NYGH's HMP vs MEP

Postby TREX8 » Thu Nov 11, 2010 8:13 pm

Hi,

can anyone comment on what is the difference between HMP (Higher Music Programme) offered by NYGH and MEP (Music Elective Programme)? From MOE's website, NYGH is not one of the MEP schools listed.

Also, assuming that DD can make it into NYGH, how difficult is it to be selected to do HMP? I understand that the minimum criteria is Grade 3 for Practical and Theory. Also, how is the selection done? Is it based on audition or academic results (PSLE T scores) or ABRSM grade?

tks in advance!
