I would like to know your take and why?

Depends on many factors.
Do want the one which is nearer?
The one which gives a more holistic education?

Distance is not a problem. Looking for one which gives a more holistic education.

of course river valley. just to share my own experience with my daughter. i took her out of dunman high last year and transferred her to rv. on paper, dunman high is a top school. in reality, their standard is quite low and lacks rigour. all their junior high exam questions for all subjects are similar to or merely duplicates of the test questions that students already did before. the school boasts that they teach beyond the o-level syllabus but if you look closely at their exam or test questions and compare them with those from the non-ip schools, you would be shocked by how easy and straight-forward the questions are.. it took me a while to finally make the decision to move my daughter. i didn't quite believe when my daughter's tutor first alerted me and strongly advised me to send her to another school. i ignored her advice for about a year..

their standard is low, questions are easy, so i presume yr daughter should be scoring very high in DHS.

as for this yr (sec2) streaming, 2 pupils from GEP classes were downgraded to "O" level class next yr.
probably is a good idea to email or clarify verbally with some of my gal's teachers to get their comments of the above view.

I am probably more curious or perplexed as to why DHS has not been performing as expected in the various academic olympiahs for the last few years. The cutoff point of DHS is comparable to HCI and NJC (for example) but the results in these competitions is a huge gap behind. The results is even behind RV's. Fair enough, there are some PRC scholars in the competitions but still the majority are Singaporeans.

think RV has a better holistic education. RV got BPA Student All-Round Development in 2006, 2 years ahead of DHS.

think new P also revamped and enhanced the leadership and character development programme. RV student leaders just organised a very successful Asian Young Leaders Convention in aug.

relax, i don't want to offend anyone here. just sharing my experience. maybe dunman high offer holy-man education. but that's really not the main reason why my daughter goes to school. good a-level exam results after IP is more realistic. dunman high a-level exam results didn't tally with the 'we-have-one-president-scholar' campaign. it's just not enough to convince me. sorry. and given there are other schools to choose..

They have o-level class in DHS?
