Hi Sally

Happy new year to you and everyone else!

Where can i get hold of the Maths Olympiad past year papers? My gal is starting P4 this year; what level are the papers targeting at? It seems that your kid's school has a Math Olympiad class that coaches kids who have high ability in Maths. Not sure if my gal's school has such classes....

hi clover18

He got it from the Maths Olympiad teacher's centre. He started training in P4. You may want to check with her school whether they have such classes by the way which school is she in?

She's in Rosyth. Let me check with the school if they ahve such classes. Does your kid go for Math Olympiad lessions externally? Any suggestions on where I can put her to see if she has the aptitude for it?

From what I know Rosyth has Maths Olympiad programme bcos my family doctor son is in the programme. No, we did not send him for any external class except Chinese. You check this centre; www.math.com.sg, this is my boy maths olympiad teacher centre, her name is Mdm Soh. Hear she is very bossy, my friend called her and check whether can send her son to her centre and she said 'we only take in selected student and not all studen can do Maths Olympiad'.

[Moderator's note: Topics merged.]

My friend's daughter has Grade 8 in piano (distinction)
and she wonders which secondary school
accepts DSA application base on piano excellence. Please advise.

Accordingly to MOE criteria, to do MEP (Music Elective Programme) ABRSM theory and practical grade 3 will be qualified.

My neighbour's child is a Music talent and managed to got into the top school of Singapore thru Music DSA. However, the child could not cope academically after getting into the school. A year later, the child has been seen wearing a neighbourhood school uniform ... I could also see happiness on his face.
