2011 PSLE Results Day 24 Nov

Postby Pen88n » Mon Nov 21, 2011 9:37 pm

My fren asked a question on whether it is necessary for both parents to be present on the PSLE results day or one parent will do or not necessary to have parent's presence. Her DD asked to go by herself. Check out Poll: will both you and your spouse be present on PSLE results day? What do you all think?

I think it is good to have at least one parent to be present and accompany the child..as I believe many parents will be there so must go and support your own kid :rahrah:

If I go to work that day, I won't be able to concentrate, so might as well take the day off and give moral support to my DD.
I can still vividly remember the day when I got my PSLE results.
My mom and younger brother were there for me.

I told my fren that if DD going alone, must inform teacher or DD's fren to watch out for DD. If sense any "unhappiness", should keep DD company and call her immediately to go and fetch DD from school.

I went alone to get my PSLE results. I stayed very near the school, but for some reason (can't remember why now) ended up going late  . Teacher was grumbling as I was "one of the top students" announced and I was nowhere in sight

Yes, definitely parents should be at school with the kids. I saw a couple of kids who went to collect their results 2 years ago without their parents crying inconsolably. I think it's not just that they're disappointed in themselves but also that they've disappointed their parents. If the parents were there they could have comforted them and put them at ease immediately instead of the kid wondering how they're going to face their parents. You also don't know what might be going through these kids' minds.
