Hi!

Does a higher top score means a more difficult exam n wider deviation of score
I.e. Besides the top XX % that score 250 and above the rest of the cohort may see their score dipped a little , resulting in a drop in COP?

What is your view/advice?

Thanks !

My observation:
Read somewhere in one of the thread that last year Top 10% was at 249. This year it is at 250. So does that mean that the COP would be like 1 point higher for those schools with COP hovering around 250 and above? However EESIS remains at 260... so do not expect any change for those at around 260 and above. Personal opinion is that the COP for schools below 250 might be affected by a small margin like 1 pt. There should not be much change. However, with the introduction of IP to Victoria, Cedar, SCGS, St Nicholas, Catholic High, SJI, MGS, I would expect more would probably select these schools over non IP schools. However SJI might not be a top choice since it is IB.... cos IB is relatively new and not many tuition centres out there could honestly able to provide tuition for IB syllabus and the syllabus change every few years. So it would be hard to find tutors... if any it would be rather costly. O n A levels are so much easier to cope... many many reliable tuition centres and tutors out there.

Actually not, the COP is the score of the lowest person to enter the school in one year.
