Gap in between Express/Nor A/Nor T

Hi,

is there a reason the MOE had that gap in purpose, my kid score 205 and aiming for a school near home (JSS). but the score for express give me lots of ??? in choosing the secondary school.

will anyone able to advice on how MOE select student?

Not sure what u mean exactly. Are u asking why the range for express overlaps with N(A)? Or are asking how MOE decides the COP for Express? Your child clearly qualifies for Express so I dun think u should be worrying abt that.

If you mean you have limited choices when it comes to secondary school, that is true. The posting process is clearly explained in the booklet -- ranked by T-scores. You can still try for your ideal school but include some schs within your COP in your other choices so you will stand a better chance of getting a sch of your choice.

Exp is clearly 200 and above
NA and exp is 180-199

So your son can't choose. Have to go exp.

For Jurong schools,
Jurong SS
Jurongville
Hua Yi
Fuhua
Jurong west SS
are some of the better ones.
Don't choose shuqun, I have taught there b4
Don't choose pioneer and yuan Ching

I heard of a kid who got 187 but is given Normal. Not given a choice.

I believe Express starts from 188.
