Anderson Sec is also a band 1 school. Did you get the info from 2011 sec schools selection booklet?
HSK should not scrap away such important info. This info will help parents to choose the right schools for their P6 kids. Everyone knows that elite schools are the IP schools such as RI. RGS, HCI, NYGH etc. But we do not know much about the neighbourhood schools & banding will help us to differentiate the better neighbourhood schools from the so so ones.

No, it's not from 2011 selection book.... Latest updated Banding 2012.
Yes, Anderson retains its Band 1.
O ya:
Band 3 still have:
-Swiss Cottage

Band 7:
-Ang Mo Kio

Just sharing for parents to make better decision.

How about Nan Hua High? Compared to BPGH, which one is better?

Academics wise:

Nan Hua(NH) last yr Sec 4 cohort did well but still can't squeeze into Band 1. It's in Band 2, but in the Top tier of Band 2.

NH last COP is 243 while Bt Panjang ( BP)244.
Pretty close COP between these schs. But NH COP includes Higher Mothet Bonus Point while BP COP doesnt. So can guess which sch has higher calibre of students intake.

In terms of niches:

NH recieved the Outstanding' Parnters this Sept fr MOE.
It's a SAP sch so a very Chinese environment. If yr kid is into this Chinese culture, this is the school.

BP is the centre of Excellence in Maths n Science.
It has Maths n Sci research Prog.
Next, it has Art Elective Prog, so kids into this forte may consider taking up this Prog.

So Both Schs hv their niches. It depends what u want.
That's all....

Hi Crester, why do you choose Xin Min & Nan Chiau? How about Anderson or Zhong Hua, which are band 1 schools?

Actually our choices are about the same. Xin Min, Nan Chiau, Zhong Hua, Anderson. Have to depend on our kids' PSLE results.

XinMin COP dropped to 235 this yr due to Nan Chiau having become SAP.
It's used to be 240+-.

As what I have expected. Xin Min COP has started to drop (236) since last year. Sengkang kids used to choose Xin Min. Now they choose Nan Chiau which is a SAP school & it is nearer to their home.
