How badly do you want your DD to be in IP? Cedar's COP last year was 246. So 245 might or might not make the cut off. And the IP starting in 2013 will only be offered to 50 sec 3 students. I'm not sure how they will make the selection, but probably those in the top 50 in the cohort, unless some of the opt out. So unless you're very certain your DD will be able to make IP, I would advise staying in SCGS. Of course, if she would love to go Cedar or some other school, then it's up to her.

50 students each from VS and Cedar (2011 Sec cohort) will be selected for the VJC IP program - this is a special arrangement, although the IP for both schools only start in 2012.

vjc ip accept 150 per yr
for 2013 - 50 from vs and 50 from cgs...means left 50 places for all other schools...
perhaps someone can give better info..

my younger brother could be his schoolmate (he scored 258) next yr
as an old boy who graduated there several yrs ago - i can say that the school has good principal and teachers and a strong school spirit - with emphasis on leadership and character building and CCAs esp sports -
a good mix of students from lower to middle income families and ethnic background and scholars from china and asean
most of all - the students (past n present) have very strong camaradie - something i enjoy most

VS as first choice might be a waste. With 260, he can qualify to any IP schools easily.
although VS COP is 245 - the highest score among those who chose VS last yr is 271 - VS does have its fair share of top PSLE students choosing it as 1st choice every yr

ok i have one more doubt if my boy takes admission in sji in 2012 in sec 1 ,can he change to ip in 2013 for sec 2?
sji ip in 2013 is for sec 1s only, unless he willing to re-do sec 1 hehe (no offence)
