Victoria School or Catholic High School?

Unlike entry to Primary Schools, admission into Secondary Schools is based on meritocracy. PSLE results are used as key admission criteria. Discuss everything related to PSLE and selection of Secondary Schools here.

There are 6 choices. You can choose both.

The good thing about Victoria is that they allow the students to switch to O Level stream, and vice-versa.

RV & BPGHS, both are just as far, 1 hour travelling time. Guess he would have to sacrifice his sleeping time if I want to enrol him into a good school.

As I was hoping that he can be in a all boys school, it's either VS or CHS.

perhaps you can ask your child for his preference too

VS student population comes from lower-income and middle-income families, and across different races, very much reflective of Singapore's population. This is very much like RI too.

You seem to be some kind of "insider" of VS. Do you happen to know approximately how many VS students gone on to VJC in recent years? How many gone on to become top scorers in VJC with 7-8 distinctions in A level?

Not sure about those scoring 7-8 distinctions.

From what I learned, about 1/3 of VS students entered VJC, some were via DSA-Sports. Quite a no of VS top students and sportsmen opted to go to RI(JC) however. Reason seem to be that some of them do not view VJC as having the same strong school spirit as VS. Ask students who have attended VS/VJC and many will say that they enjoyed their time more in VS. Ironically, VJC attract many non-VS students. Some Dunman HIgh IP students forego IP after Year 4 to switch to VJC (not sure how this is possible since IP students do not take O levels, but perhaps the principal has the discretion to take them in). RI(JC) seem to attract more achievement-oriented students, HCI seem to attract more SAP school students. VJC seem to attract more of the fun-loving students who are at the same time academically good.
The above information may not be completely accurate. Others who have more info may like to chip in.
