Edusave scholarship is definitely based on school results only., If your DD missed her entire prelims due to medical conditions, the school will still get a combined total for her in view of her previous CA and SA. If she did well enough, she will still qualify to be within the top 5-10% of the school cohort to get the Edusave scholarship.

The scholarship that is based on PSLE T-score is EESIS, which is for the top 3% of PSLE cohort for that year only.

But her SA was not that fantastic, around 85% or less (can't remember but definitely not more) and in her report book the final slip had VR for all her subjects. There's no combine scores.

Hi. From MOE website:

Edusave Scholarships for Primary Schools

For Primary 5 or 6 pupils

All Singaporean students in primary 5 or 6 in a Government or a Government-aided school, are eligible for the Edusave Scholarship for Primary Schools if they are among the top 10% of students of their level based on their overall school examination results for the year. The value of the award is $350

That's right. That's why it's highly possible for a P6 pupil to be awarded both the Edusave Scholarship & EESIS at the same time as one is based on school exams results while the other is based on PSLE results. But when comes to Secondary, EESIS recipients would not be eligible for the Edusave (Independent Schools) Yearly Awards anymore, even if u r top 5% of the level.

Thanks for the information. Now I know. Cos DD also got EESIS, that's why I thought Edusave scholarship is also based on PSLE scores.

DD's friends with PSLE scores of high 24x didn't get Edusave scholarship and mostly those with 25x got it, that's why I thought it's base on top 10% of PSLE scores.

Is it possible to drop from N(A) Chinese to Basic Chinese? AISS placed me in N(A) Chinese and according to the talk from one of the MT teachers, N(A) will be using Express Textbooks and I already got N(T) Chinese Textbooks .-.
My parents agreed since they don't want me to focus so much on my Chinese and fail the other 9 subjects.

I got grade 2 for my Foundation MT in PSLE, is it still possible? I don't want to drop to NT because of my Chinese

Are you in NT or NA stream? Also, when you say Basic Chinese, are you referring to NT Chinese or Chinese B?

I believe if you cannot cope with N(A) Chinese, you will be asked to drop to N(T) Chinese (Basic Chinese) or even Chinese B. However do check out how the change in the subject will affect your promotion criteria, or even your N level exam.

I don't think a student will fail all other subjects just because of one subject. You need to know how to manage your time properly. Also, you need to check what is the promotion criteria for your school. In my nephew's school, a student don't have to pass all the subjects before he/she can gets promoted.

Note: I am not encouraging you to just meet the minimium promotion criteria :)
