Hello dear helpful parents!

My son scored 245+1 for the PSLE. what's the chance of getting into the following? & in what ranking is advisable? We are looking into character building as well.

1) Catholic High - IP
2) SJI - IP
3) ACS (I) - O
4) SJI - O
5) Catholic High - O
6) NanHuan

Any input is much appreciated!

Not trying to dishearten you, but I think its best to go O level at 245. All IP schools will take in those above 250. Even if COP drop this year by 3-4 points, you still need to consider if your child is suitable for IP as it requires a lot of hardwork, self motivation n discipline to succeed.

With 245, you can still go to a very good O level school.

Do u want to consider distance as a factor ?

Do you want SAP school envt (mostly Chinese) or mix culture (representation from various races)?

If move to IP track would be it A Levels or IB ?

Any issues with paying more fees for independent schools ?

Also affiliation to the JCs if any just in case the boy stays in the O Level track?

Hi all,

Congratulations to all parents whose kids have done well and have a chance to attend their dream school.

Could anyone in the forum who has information about Bedok South/Bedok Green/ Bedok North please advise which of these 3 schools I should chose for my boy based on the criteria that the school could possibly help him do okay for O levels.
Or any information about these 3 schools ..... Thank you very much for your help.

While I hoped I was in your shoes, my boy did 207 despite studying long hours everyday. He worked very hard but some children are just not academically inclined even with help from great tutors...

Parents with kids who are academically inclined. You should feel very blessed and lucky. There are really kids who struggled and worked hard but still cannot excel...

So long as your son worked hard, you don't need to feel sad. You shld be proud of him. Life is not just about academic results, more important is his character development.

So long as he has the rite attitude, he will go far in future. He may just be a late developer. Don't forget you still have O Levels/A Levels/Poly/Uni.

Just continue to give him your full moral support and encouragement. Never let him feel he is no good.

Cheers!
