I got 257+3 and being posted to st nicks ip. Anyone else going too?

I'm a sec 2 ip student in st nicks next year. i know this is irrelevant but how much is the cop this time?

My dd got 257+2 and also being to posted to chij st nicholas ip. I would like to ask a few questions.
1.Do you need to buy an ipad or laptop?
2.What is the dismissal time(excluding ccas and enrichment classes)?
3. What is the dismissal time for enrichment classes and how many days a week.
4.During the open house,the principal said that we will meet up scgs girls and chs boys. How often is that?
5.For mep, how's the audition like?
6.For reporting day how much money do you need to bring?

I'm a PR and got 255 but couldn't get into st nicks IP. I got express stream for st nicks. What should I do?

Does your schoolmates take up higher chinese? If she got merit for Higher chinese, she will be 241+1= 242 (COP)

Actually 241 plus merit for HCL is 241 + 2 = 243

Hi, LoveIsEverything, I fully agree with what you say. This policy of 'Every School is a good School' has really mess things up.(especially COP for Top School)

NYGH counts HCL. RGS/RI don't. So on a normalised basis, NYGH should be 258...

I thot COP for all schools across the board shld NOT include HCL points. It wont be a fair indicator.

Can anyone confirm if this is true or not.

Nobody with some common sense has ever said that COP should be taken as the sole indicator. Any number has its value but they should be read intelligently probably together with other numbers and factors to get a full picture.

This is so for schools COP, even unemployment data, inflation data etc...should be read with care.

I think the govt has successfully pulled the COP of schools closer. With the T-score of top scorers lowered and T-score of average students increased, the top school COP came down and average school went up. I believe this is one step closer to what the govt wanted to promote "Every school is a good school". I remembered I saw somewhere in this forum someone has already predicted this result.

Besides applying this strategy (moe)
think maybe Psle Maths paper set from this year onwards also getting easier. (Compared to last time : tough questions set)

If Maths paper set is easier :-
More students do well, they score higher, move closer towards "see ! every school is good".

COP is COP

include or exclude HCL is depending on whether u are applying to SAP sec school or not

if u apply to SAP school, you can use your HCL bonus points as an added bonus

if your t-score is 280+3, and you apply to HCI, and the COP is 284, you still won't get in; and if your t-score is 281+3, u get in, and everyone else with 284 or higher gets in.

for 280+3 and if you apply for RI and its COP is 279, you are still regarded as entering with 280, not 283, the 3 points is not used at all.

and it is the fairness of the objective to encourage the study and usage of HCL and as an incentive to maintain / retain the Chinese-ness of SAP schools when they were converted from Chinese medium school to English medium school.

For the SAP schools, you can get up to three "bonus" points if you include HCL. In other words, even though NYGH's COP is 261, you only need 258(+3) to meet the entry criteria. So to compare like to like with non-SAP schools, the normalised COP for NYGH should be 258.
