Your DC will receive the form from MOE via his school before 24/10. Then from 24-28 Oct, you have to submit your choice. You can do online or submit hard copy back to MOE via your DC school.

Especially since there is now an enhanced admission using sports for the DSA (IP). I am assuming her DD got a CO from St Nicks for the O level track using sports.
She did, in fact she applied for Sports IP. Passed Sports auction and passed interview for "O" levels. Went on to interview for IP. But teacher in charge say her P5 & P6 results not good enough hence gave her CO for 'O' level track.
from now till 24 Oct 2016 -

your friend may write an email directly to [email protected] :
clarify if a DSA-Sports-Cca O-level pupil who happen to do very well at end of Sec 2 (St Nick), can she convert into IP, starting IP from Sec 3 Term 1

When your friend's DSA daughter reach Sec 2 in 2018, if she have good results academically, she may approach her class Form teacher, Raise her concern, ask possible to convert to IP

For sngs, I once clarify and told that it is possible to appeal, provided the COP meets the IP COP, second there are vacancies and thirdly pass the interview

What if the child is offered DSA for IP in a dual track school but unable to keep up with the IP pace. Will the child be able to switch to O level track?
At end of Sec 1 (CHIJ St Nick) -
there is Promotion criteria defined for IP students, to continue IP into Sec 2.

can refer slide 55 (promotion criteria, for the latest 2016 Sec 1 batch)
https://drive.google.com/a/moe.edu.sg/f ... loTWc/view

the same also apply to O level students (refer slide 53)

Students who have problem coping :
Form Tr and Subject Tr will talk to the affected pupils, at end of Sec 1 & Sec 2. Tr will advise them, accordingly.

As Secondary school environment is quite different from primary school (eg : take on 9 Secondary school subjects including Literature, History, Geography, etc. vs only 4 psle subjects) -
there are some St Nick IP pupils who like say, initially excitedly take up 3rd language (can be Japanese, French, German, Malay) & later, find that can't cope, they can write in to the subject Tr, request to drop 3rd language along the way, to alleviate their burden of studying too many subjects, plus compulsory heavy Cca commitment in Sec school.
For 3rd language -
the girls attend MOE language centre at Bishan Street 14, once a week.

besides 3rd language : sometimes pupils may also drop Music subject, if really find that no time to cope with too many things placed on their plate.

(School fees for Sg citizenship born child - whether O level or IP student (St Nick) : $28, per month)

Since StNIcs has a Y3 admission into IP (http://www.chijstnicholasgirls.moe.edu. ... -ip-year-3), I believe one can always request for a transfer if they can meet the criteria.

Hi,
What I meant is if the girl is offered via DSA sports O level, she can appeal to be in the IP program once PSLE results is out if she meets the IP COP. This is what I was told by the school, unless the School is not in line with the MOE guidelines. However I do not know if you needs to fulfill the 4 years commitments to the CCA if you are offered under DSA IP enhanced sports.

For appeal, there is still a level of uncertainty. The girl will have to consider the risk of not being able to convert to ip. What if her PSLE score qualify for ip but school does not allow her to convert?

May I know what is the min T-score for a CO given by RGS?
What is the COP for RGS last year?
How about NYGH?
