Do let your two children know (aware) beforehand, that for Phase 1 Written test, scheduled either on (26 or 27 June 2019) : the Written test itself, will take around (2 to 2.5) hours.
However, because many P6 students will be turning up on these two scheduled days to take test, eg. queuing up to register, this might take a bit of time.
After taken (sat for) Phase 1 test, if students mange to pass (clear) this test, they will be short-listed to attend Round 2 test. This time, will be team work, around 4 to 5 students assigned per team, hands-on-group (team) work, where they test students on creativity, plus Scientific Inquiry & Application (practical)
One SST (School of Science & Technology) ex-student shared that in 2015, his team need to design a parachute, may read his sharing further

Super informative and helpful! Thanks a lot!
I am one of those who has paid to outsource this. I wasn't going to originally but my son is the very introverted type so I didn't feel that practising the questions at home would be enough; he needs to be forced to talk in front of other people. He is doing it this week and he is not enjoying it - which I think proves my point that he needed to do it :-)phtthp wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 2:45 amsome of my kid P6 school-mates' parents spent around $ 650, just to let their child attend some DSA preparation interview. Actually, no need to spend this amount of $.
Below are some of the FAQ interview questions, just like any job interview, that you can help prepare your child for the interview (june holiday)

It is difficult for introverted people to speak in front of several unfamiliar faces. My mum sent me for some public speaking workshops and i was just on “defence/survival mode” during the workshop. Maybe rote throwing back to the trainers what they wanted me to show. But after the few hours, all forgotten and never used again. Like a horror movie is never fun to be remembered and re-lived. When it came to job interviews, at least I could research the company beforehand. Helped a little but still need to build rapport with the interviewer. I self-learnt techniques such as how to do small talk, how to pick and make a nice neutral observation about the interviewer etc. Think of and ask earnest questions that may indicate your genuine interest in working there.nms1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 5:00 amI am one of those who has paid to outsource this.
