I have a question. What will happen to our DSA posting if our child misses their PSLE exams due to Covid QO/LOA? I am a little paranoid now with the rising cases..
Then, SEAB will refer back to your P6 school exam results
Will it affect the CO/WL given ? Am i right to say that as long as the child Meets the AL <20 for the prelims/SAs, the CO will be guaranteed. It does not matter whether or not he/she misses the PSLE exam due to Covid situation?

This is the 2nd year, that covid-19 still on-going.

How have your child been performing, in his 2021 P6 school exam so far ?

If your child never reach AL 20,
there is nothing to worry about.

Yes, even if SEAB assess based on your school exam results, as long as less than or equal AL 20, can go Express stream (IP or O level track).

But, if student were to go Normal stream, is AL 22.

Are there many 2021 P6 students applying for DSA, under "Normal" stream ?

My daughter tried hard to secure a academic CO with her dream school in Bishan area (a popular girl IP school). Now that she’s received a CO , she said that she’s keeping her options open . Might give up the CO to go back to her affiliated Sec school (also a popular IP school in AMK area) using psle results . Kids do change their mind don’t they ?!

Secondly, you mentioned RGS was your DD's dream school. Why did this change? Or was it her dream school because she felt it was your dream school?
….
When I was helping my DD to make a decision (years back), it helped when I discussed with her the different paths beyond, upper sec special programs and JC special programs. St Nick's and RGS I believe have different special programmes and approaches.
This is a good post.

The special programmes at St Nicks and RGS are very different. The competitions they take part in, are also very different. The way one gets to participate in the competitions are also very different. As the CO is an academic CO, it means the differences in CCA and differences in CCA selection, will also matter. The school culture is also vastly different.

If you are well below AL 20, I think you should be fine. However, if you are close to AL 20 I think the answer here is not clear. If you cannot sit for the exam, you need to apply for "Special Considerations." The text below is from MOE press release (23 June 2021). Exactly what is done has never been defined (as far as I am aware), and I take the text to mean there could be some adjustment up or down based on how you did relative to your school cohort (on prelim/prior papers) and how your school cohort did on PSLE (vs. prelim/prior papers).

Special consideration is a well-established procedure which awards affected candidates with projected grades through an evidence-based and data-driven approach. SEAB will consider multiple sources of evidence, such as the candidate's performance in the other papers for that affected subject in national and school-based examinations as well as the school cohort's performance in national and school-based exams, to ensure a fair assessment. All special consideration applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis and subjected to a rigorous review process.

Hi
Friends,
Would like to know more about TJC teaching methods, first 4 years and IP program. Any personal experience, something other than what is mentioned in the website.
Which university do the children go to after TJC Ip program?.
Thanks in advance.
