Dear parents. I just looked thru the DSA portal. Pardon my ignorance need to check on some stuff if u could assist πŸ™πŸ½
1. Non-school achievements: there is max 10 entries. So if apply for leadership, academic and art, the 10 entries are supposed to be summarised for all talents together?
2. Understand school achievement are auto-submitted. Academics furnished for p5&p6 but those edusave/ ECHa awards does school submit from p1?

Thanks in advance
A suggestion, do not pick and apply for 3 different domain, max 2. It’s extremely rare for a child to have 3 different talent of a high standard. DSA selectors look for quality, not quantity.
If you apply for 2 domains in 1 school, do be prepared to accept offers for either. Do note the school will probably offer you for the domain they need more. eg. Sports vs MEP (I know quite extreme, but good enough example hahha).

In addition to the comments you received from others, I would note that Art if attached to the AEP (or specific school art programmes) can be one of the more restrictive DSA domains. I believe in upper sec the AEP will clash with a lot of other electives and programmes, and may cause some limitations on what else the student can do. I.e. if really interested in art by all means apply. If trying to find any way to get a seat via DSA, I'm not sure this is the best domain to do it in.

Good luck.

DSA 2021 portal opens only at 11am. Template (for u to save to computer, then copy & paste your precious text into the online form) will also be available then. Good luck!
Not sure if this is the same as last year, but I recall that you could fill in the application online and edit it anytime before the last submission date - this year being 1st June. Try it out and see.

Not to mention, art is probably the domain with the lowest success rate (SOTA being the exception for obvious reasons).

NUS High School of Math and Science
Principal's Presentation (2021 revised video) for E-Open House on 10 and 22 May 2021

https://youtu.be/fFzs_zq0zuQ
Asking for a friend,

Do Geppers stand a better chance at dsa? Thanks
If the Gepper is outstanding in Math or Science, which they usually are. They stand an equal chance with another student with outstanding achievements in the domain.

They used to have an edge and more or less bao jiak under the general academic domain. Thankfully (or unfortunately, depending on which side of the fence you are on), MOE has removed that. Hence, generally smart Geppers but without achievements in something will find it tough.
Thanks for the reply!

Hi,
My daughter is P6 this year and she wants to try DSA to SST(via science, technology or maths) and NUS High(science or maths).
In P3, her school selected her for the National English Writing Competition. In P4, she had won Top Brain(School) in Koobits for all of the terms. She was selected for the annual Mathlympic for all Primary Schools and National Mathematical Olympiad of Singapore. She also took part in (ICAS)Maths and digital technologies and obtained credit award for both. In P5, she was selected for E2K Maths and Science. She got gold award for a science festival(not by school). This year, she was selected for another Science Olympiad(still waiting for results).
She was maths monitor in P1 and P3, English monitor in P2, class monitor in P4, peer mediator in P5 and currently she is a Science monitor. Her CCA is the string ensemble as she loves playing the cellow1. However, she has a great passion for science, technology and maths. May I please know the chances of her getting an interview and a place in either of the schools?

Thanks in advance!
