Maid's passport and work permit - who keep?

According to MOM, employers are not supposed to keep the helper's work permit and passport.

I agree. My parents never keep the passport and work permit of all the maids we had. Even they are considered working foreigners, they should be enjoying freedom like this simple way of letting them keep their passport. That is also one way to let them know that you trust them so that they should also be worthy of your trust too.
