29 May 2018 will be your BIG day.
Have an early night on 28 May and a good breakfast on 29 May
1 June will be the BIG day if you're referring to actual move.
29 May onwards, the flat would be blessed and we can start moving stuff in and really calling it OUR place (if you know what i mean).

daughter just asked when we will be moving...hubby replied her 2 weeks from today. suddenly it seems surreal...it's like, 'IT'S REAL! We are moving.

Starlight,
hubby applied for this flat during May SBF exercise last year.
waiting for computer balloting of queue number and choosing a flat took 6 months...selling this flat took 4 months and the whole resale transaction was only completed in early May. if I didn't apply for temp loan to get keys earlier, my renovation would have started only this month and everything would have to be chop chop because i'm given only 70 days extension stay.

i used to think IDs will plan and design and i would have to accommodate.
with my previous flat, i did as i like thinking it would be how i wanted the feel. the result was disastrous.
anyway, that is history.

with the new flat and also some spare cash after selling the flat, i engaged an ID. i did my homework after getting the floor plan what each room will look with ideas from qanvast. then i discussed with the ID what are my likes/dislikes, colour combi, kitchen cabinets etc. he provided his point of view and professional advice.

Most of my renovation is done by my ID with a few items which my ID charged too high. I decided using "outside" contractors. I found one ala-carte ceiling contractor thru surfing the websites. Already met him for a quote. Almost half the price of what my ID quoted me.

the ID gave me a budget of the tiles...each piece not more than $3.20...but I couldn't find any design I like. I like this design which came in 3 colours - grey, pinkish and brownish but it is $3.48...so I had to top up a little.
the other extra is because of the extended shelf in master bedroom loo as I do not have space for a dressing table...so all my cosmetic stuff has to be moved into the toilet.
lights wise, I didn't go for anything fancy to cut cost. I installed venetian blinds only in the living room.
my renovation bill came up to $45K...exceeded $5k. overall, we are very happy with the design and layout.
we didn't hack off any wall or change toilet doors.
