Useful Tips on Washing White Uniforms?!?

Postby moomoo138 » Mon Jan 09, 2012 11:33 am

Hi

Help needed... Anyone has any useful tips (tested & proven) on washing white uniforms?

Was told not to use bleach cos instead of whitening the uniforms, it may cause it to turn abit yellowish... is that true? How about those colour bleach?

Washing clothes juz isn't my department... Many thanks!!!

My mum's tip is to put some concentrated detergent on very dirty areas like collar and sleeves, leave for 15 mins, then soak in detergent+water overnight before washing in machine.

Don't know if it really works, cos I never have enough time to do that. Usually just put in more concentrated detergent + water, scrub and throw into machine to wash. So my whites ain't that white after a while and end up buying new uniforms again

Hi Pen88n

Tks for the tips... It's so nice to 'hear' from you again... Hope your DS has settled down and enjoying his new journey... :rahrah:

Received another tips - put in some detergent powder with lemon juice before adding boiling water into it. Then soak it for awhile before washing. Wonder if it's really works? Has anyone tried that? Pls share.

I use kao wide bleach...can be used for white and colored clothing. But if I have red or dark color clothes, I won't wash with my kids' school white tops. Unless I am very sure those dark colored pieces are seasoned ones.
I like my whites to be white.

always wash the white one separately on its own, never soak in the same tub with other colour
