Need advice and feedback on different brands, MTIA!

Brands considered -
Bosch
Teka
Brandt
Ariston
Electrolux
Panasonic (fridge)

Types of appliances -
Steam oven (built-in type)
Catalytic/Pyrolytic oven (built-in type)
Washing machine (>7 kg)

Dryer (> 7 kg, stacking on washing machine)
Dish washer (integrated)
Fridge (> 500 litres, preferably french doors)

Would you consider a washer/dryer combi? I'm currently using one that takes >7kg for washing and about 2 kg less for drying. I think I've had it for about a year or coming to a year. It's real quiet and has many options. I chose Toshiba cos the Electrolux one was above our budget.

Thanks, Schellen. My wife prefers separate coz we usually have alot of laundry (2 adults and 2 tweens). Coincidentally, my sis is looking for a combi and I will let her know about the Toshiba one. Do you have the model number and price?

I know it's not on your list, but how about Miele for washer/dryer? I highly recommend this German brand. I have tried at least four brands, and have never been so satisfied with a front loader before - great washing results and energy+ water-efficient. The capacity is up to 6 kg versus your 7kg requirements, but I find that it's more than sufficient for our family of 2 grown-ups and 3 (very grubby) young kids.

lol, I checked on Miele price for a steam oven and it was $8k+ compared to a good Bosch model that costs $2.5k. After that, I didnt dare to ask for other Miele products.

So, I might have been prejudiced against Miele based on the steam oven price. Are you able to share the model and price for your washer/dryer?

$8K for a steam oven! Wow, can buy their washer and dryer already.

I purchased my washer and dryer about 2 yrs ago, so I think the models are probably not available anymore; it was a deal so limited stock. The current deal is this:-

My set was the exact same price, btw. Interesting that prices didn't go up.

There are higher end models available, more functions etc, but prices are :!:.

Oh, I've heard that Electrolux is a good choice for front loading washer too.

No problem. I chose the combi to save on costs and space.

I think Toshiba only has one model for the combi. I can't remember the price but I know we got it at a discount cos it was from a Harvey Norman roadshow. Check the URL below:

What are you guys using as a fridge?

I use a Mitsubishi MR-CU375U-ST (freezer at bottom, vege drawer in the middle) and find myself with a tight freezer space. The drawer compartment is filled with my baby girl's frozen food, and the bottom has frozen meats/ fish that the family eats. Sometimes it's a pain to get things to fit.

How do you guys do it? Buy less things per grocery trip (and make more trips?) Get a bigger fridge? Buy a separate freezer?

I'm also using Mitsubishi. MR-CU375U-ST looks similar to my model. The freezer is also at the bottom. I like the 'layout' as I hardly access to the freezer compartment.

I have removed a tray at the chiller section so those fruits juice/fresh milk can all stand upright. I use a lot of plastic container from tupperware to store every thing. From Chiller to Freezer. Even the veg/fruit compartment. No loose bit in there. By doing that, things are more organised and food/fruits last longer and that save me from doing daily grocery shopping.

I see what you mean... I'll try that with mine as well. My vege compartment is CHOKED with herbs that I got the last time (to cook soup with) and there's a huge packet of dried scallops inside that's taking up a lot of space *sigh*
