Hello,

My maid had headache & vomitting yesterday. Then i took to the nearby General Physician this morning. Based on the symptoms that she told him, the GP suspected it could be meningitis(some thing like brain fever).

I got very worried and rushed to NUH. Looks like the doctors jumped the gun, and took blood test, x-ray, CT-scan etc., the hospital fee is going to cost a bomb, 'cos she dont have any subsidy. The admitted the maid for monitoring.they said it will be minimum 3 days

checked with my agency. the agent told sat/sun no insurance agents work..can only check on monday.

has anybody in this forum claimed the hospitalisation fee from the insurance. Appreciate if you could educate me on the procedure.

Thanks

bsk,
think the claim procedure for hospitalisation should be almost the same for every insurance company but i do suggest you double check with yours.

Get the hospital claim form from the company (website or agent), they will need the hospital discharge summary from the hospital, the original bills and if possible, get the doctor to sign and fill up the claim form (some insurance company don't require this if the discharge summary is provided)

Make sure that you have all the paperwork completed before she is discharged. Most doctors will charge you if you have to go back for another letter or additional forms to be completed.
