I just had a Filipino maid 2 weeks ago . Everything was fine , cooking , washing and prepare breakfast for my daughter .. To the extend bake cakes, sandwiches etc... And I thought 天公 really bless me after encountered with so many lousy maids.

I realised they are very sensitive to comments from us or you try to correct her and they take it very seriously. I not sure whether is it their culture or upbringing process, Personal PRIDE to them is top in the list. For past few days she given us black face and we were wondering what really happened ?!? We have been treating her so well and reduce houseworks .

Finally both of us cannot tahan and ve to show my real power !! I started to question her and what really in her mind.

She told us that she feel ASHAMED cos my primary 3 daughter know how to wash plates . (My wife just casual talk and she was beside us)

She feel ashamed when we corrected her mistakes . Eg . Cooking. We were looking at her fry vege and she feel TENSE.

She saw a Do and Dont maid instructions in our room. previously we use that to educate e indo and myn maids. For her we thought should be alright since she already 37yrs and mature. We didn't went thru with her.
But to the Filipino maid, she was feeling pressure and worry. She didn't voice out all these concerns.

And many small issues which I shall not list out...

Because of all these minor issues, for the 2 weeks she have not smile.
She don't even dare to ask us even she have problem...

We always thought that they re more mature and educated but never thought that they see themselves so "high up" . They ve very serious 心病!!!


To conclude, is always good to communicate with them and let them voice their concern.

I not sure whether I am the only one have such issues with Filipino maid.

Can some of u share your bad experience with ur Filipino maid.

My last maid is Filipino(her name is Meribell),was abt ur maid age,married,worked in sg for few yrs.According to my frd,she worked very hard wf ex-employer,till she tak boleh tahan n quit.

Initially,she was very happy.After 2weeks, she showed black face n ignored my instruction.

Then,i realised she wasn't happy coz i separated her ingredients n food fr us.I gave her frozen chicken,ntuc bread.Initially,i let her shared the same food as us,but she abused it.Think abt it, we also took the same food as her,except i give better food such as fresh chicken or pork fr cold storage to the children.

I got pissed off wf her coz she "swapped" the chicken.She cooked frozen chicken for my kiddo n she took the fresh ones.For the bread,she refused to eat ntuc brand.I don't understand,both my DH n me eat ntuc bread also.For my kiddo,i bot their breads fr. breadtalk or four leaves.

She also finished my kiddo cheese n lurpak butter within a week.

I also asked her to hang her panties n bras at the side of yard,coz hers r very colourful.If i've guest,would be very awkward.

She hinted me her ex-employer bot her high end mattress n louis vutton handphone.When i asked my frd,she said no such thing,she slept on tilam.I realise Filipino maids like to talk big n lie.

After i sent her back, i realised she badmouthed abt me to my neighbours n frd.

My DH also shares the same prob dealing wf his Filipino colleagues.They refuse to listen n always think they're good.But again,not all like that,i've met Filipino engineers who r humble.

One of my part time maid(Filipino) for yrs,turned to be very hao lian,after she started to work wf ang moh.She told me how she managed to train her employer's daughters to be obedient,how the ang moh so grateful to hv her.However,good thing doesn't last long,she was kicked out after 1yr coz the ang moh can't stand her arrogant behaviour.
