I am joining this club. I sent off my helper home yesterday. Trying not to get a new helper since I work at home. There is a school bus to send my boy to school next year. I hire a maid mainly for my MID boy who is coming to 13 years old next year. I feel so sad every time he told me that he misses Kakak. They had quite close interaction to each other. Kakak sent him to school everyday. Kakak rode scooter and he rode bicycle. They were like siblings. My boy spoke more to my helper too. In my deep heart, I know that my boy has to learn to be independent. Helper is not our family member. It's easier to train him to be without Kakak now rather than 2-3 years later. Any mother who has special needs kids going through this? Can PM me how you overcome the initial life without helper? TIA.

I will not be so brave to make the big step if she still want to work in Singapore. I would have renewed her contract instead. So far, the helpers who worked with me returned home for good i.e. marriage, etc.

Wow, a lot of people voted against having a maid... I don't have a maid, but I do have a woman who comes and cleans for me. I spend a lot of time working, and sometimes I have meetings in my house. There is no time for me to clean, and in that case, it makes sense that you pay someone to clean for you. I have these beautiful old school sofas that are in the meeting room. They get dirty easily, but I pay for sofa cleaning services, and everything is fine. I agree that a maid is too much, but when it comes to cleaning you can hire someone, I support that.

Am thinking of buying an air fryer. Due to limited space, am interested in one with the smallest capacity.

For those with a small air fryer, what is the recommended brand and what is your feedback using it?

Thank you.

I would recommend ninja brand. Wait for sales and buy directly from the distributor online don’t buy from department stores too expensive. The foot print is quite small suitable for small kitchen and has sturdy built.

I would like to ask for advice on good home gadget that speed up and ease household chores. Price is less of an issue but product must be good. Means easy to handle( I hate bulky stuff) and give powerful results. I had researched a bit on few appliance and would like to hear feedback. I am planning to go maidless given very demanding salary in the current market
1. Ecovacs Deebot - robot cleaner
2. Steam mop ( Prefer those can be used for other function like glass, etc) I had read about karcher, Xiaomi and black and decker
3. Steam garment vs iron - which one better? And which brand makes our life very easy?
4. Dishwasher - I have shortlisted Bosch and Electrolux compact size that can stack up on top of front load washing machine
5. What are the thing that can help to remove furniture dust easily? Can dyson vacumn cleaner do this job as well?
6. Should we consider switch to dyson fan so the cleaning will be easy?
7. Disposable wipes ( for table and kitchen)

High-5! I have a Thermomix too, just used it this lunchtime to make a quick soup & rice for 2. Dumped all the ingredients inside, pressed button and walked away. No more stirring over the hot stove for me.
