Suspect my maid has PT job on Sundays

On top of my other suspicions (another thread), this is the latest one. No real evidence. Just something I overhead during a conversation with her friend earlier today. She mentioned "half a day,so can earn a little bit of money", "work half a day, then go out", "Bukit Timah so far . . "

I've already told her we can't have a maid who moonlights as it's against the law. How else can I call her bluff?

I have contacted MOM to report on the moonlighting maid before. Actually, it's none of my business but I did this because that maid is talking to my maid about how good is the $$ and now my maid is begging me to let her do it on off day.

But unfortunately, MOM didn't entertain me much. They asked me to provide them with evident on what time is the maid go for her part time job? where is the address? etc... so they can jus simply wait there to catch her red-handed. Of course I won't snoop ard and follow that maid. I'm not so free. So nothing happen. As employer, we just have to accept the fact that MOM is only interested to the welfare of the maids.

Hi, yes, the agent offered to advice my maid. But this maid is on her 6th year here, she knows the ins and outs. So I declined the offer as I see no point in that. Anyway, using einney's experience as an example: so MOM can help but only with a lot of information given. But most employers won't have those key details, right? Might as well tell us to close one eye.

We will terminate our maid's contract when her loan is cleared. So her moonlighting days are numbered. That's the only consolation for me.

Well, base on evident is fair isn't? The MOM is going to send their staff to catch her red handed, that's already the best they could do..... Don't tell me you expect the MOM to persecute the maid base on your words? :?

You can do your part by providing the name of the maid and the address of the alleged moonlighting.

It's fair enough but to provide so detailed information (they also ask what time the maid will be at her moonlighting place) is quite unachievable. I can't possibly following her around. She travels by bicycle so I guess it's quite in the neighbourhoods. What if I follow her and she turns around and accused me of stalking her? This will make a police report against me.

I thought I can only report against the maid.. if happen I know where she works and I gave MOM her part-time address, will that house owner will be charged too?

In my case, I don't want to loose my current maid.. but I want to get rid of that maids that sharing the part-time contacts with my maid. I'm so lost!!

Since the detailed info such as time, block & unit no. of workplace is quite hard to obtain, so it's means we can't do anything about it.

I was hoping at least MOM issue a letter to the maid (since i have given them the name, address and unit no of her residence) to remind her again that such thing is illegal. Not just a simple "no we cannot help you on this issue"

I believed if anything will to happen to the maid the current employer (the actual employer) will have to face the problem. Overall we are at the losing end.

Is there anyway out to protect ourself from getting all the unnecessary trouble?
