Kitchen drying rack @ top hung cabinet

I am considering to install a set of top hung cabinet above the kitchen sink.

Now, I put a drying rack on the left side of the sink. My sink is a double bowl. The smaller bowl has a drying basket.

I hv seen in magazines a top hung drying rack above the sink.

For those who hv this configuration in their kitchen, can please advise whether the top hung drying rack is practical?

Thank you for your feedback.

I have that in the kitchens of all the apartments I have lived in. Kitchens being so small these days, need to find more working space, so most of the things are raised overhead.

A few things I prefer from the various types I had. Get one where the door can be slid in when flipped open. Install a light under the cabinet especially if your kitchen tends to be dim.

My sink is a single big bowl with a pull out tap to make washing of big pots and pans easier.

The rack should not be placed over sink. There are chances of damaging the rack as result of water drops on rack.
