I'm trying to renew my Filipino domestic worker's WP. In the renewal letter sent by MOM, I have furnish among other things - Disembarkation/Embarkation Card. Can I know what is this?

My maid will not be going back for home leave and there is no need to renew her passport. So there's nothing else to do on my part here correct? Because I've been reading about employment contract, filipino security bond, OEC, OWWA. Getting a bit confused by all this.

When is her WP expiring ?You just need to log in into WPOL under Employer Singpass, and do the renewal yourself. Or you can get your agency to help you.

My maid wants to go back for home leave one month before the expiry of her work permit. Can I renew it before she goes home, which would be about 6-8 weeks before expiry. She also wants to renew her passport in the Philippines bec she says it's cheaper. Can this be done also? Can the work permit renewal be done online or it's best done with an agency?

Passport renewal better engage an agency to handle the paper works at the Philipino embassy. Handling fee would cost about 100.

Home leave needs paper work e.g. exit pass at the embassy and can be done together with the passport renewal.

Thing is my maid wants to renew her passport in the Philippines. There'll still be about 7 months left to her passport before she goes on home leave. I'm wondering if the Phil embassy will make noise when she applies for home leave.

I wouldnt take the risk really in case she runs into trouble at the immigrations.

Better plan early cos passport renewal in Singapore can take some time. I forgot how long, should be at least 3 weeks or more after interview.

Thanks Glorymum. Yes, we're renewing her work permit before she leaves. I prefer to just get everything done here before she goes home - work permit, passport etc. But she wants to do it in the Philippines. She says it's cheaper. Doesn't the employer pay for passport renewal?

I got my maid to share the cost on passport renewal in Singapore.
Got the agent to process passport renewal and home leave.
U can get the agent to renew the work permit when the passport is ready but I did it by myself cos it was quite easy.
