Hi parents,

Would like to check as there are going to be so many days of home-based e-learning days during the PSLE and marking days... for working mums how do you arrange your leave to stay hm with your child to complete the e-learning?

Dos the e-learning takes up the whole day?

Given the large number of days that the children end up staying at home in Terms 3 & 4 I do not take leave for all of them. I prefer to use my leave for days when we can go out and do something fun!

My P1 son just had a home based learning day last week and they allowed them to complete the work on worksheets for those without computers and those, like me, who were worried if the children could figure out what to do!

Generally the eLearning only takes a couple of hours at most - of course once they move higher up in primary school they will be preparing for their own exams at that time.

Some teachers deliberately "open" up the worksheets for completion on a daily basis so that the kid has work to do everyday. But most times, the school just gives us a letter setting out the number of worksheets to be complete.

Nms1 is right - doesn't take long to complete. But in addition to the e-learning work, DS also has to complete assessments I dole out in preparation for SA2. So, DS will plan what e-learning work he will complete each day. These have to be done in the morning. Afternoons and nights are as per usual revision schedule.
