Helper Off day

With most families being dual-income-with-kids, outsourcing home cleaning and home economics to domestic helpers is almost a way of life for Singaporeans. Come in and discuss issues pertaining to maids and home management.

Helper Off day

Hi, what time does helper go for her off day and return?
My helper help feed baby breakfast and return by 6pm.
My friends other helper go off whenever and return 8pm.
I don't want to be the unreasonable boss.
Can somebody share?

It all depend on the employer.
Either you make the decision or discuss with your helper.
Gov regulation is the maid to be home by 2359hrs.

Not sure how true but my friend shared that helper off day is 7am to 7pm in Hong Kong usually (12 hours) and that helpers are supposed to eat their dinner outside before going home.

Mine is must be home by 6pm to help cook dinner but can go off anytime they want in the morning. So some automatic one will help feed baby and hang out the clothes first whereas some will on the dot dash out to play at 7am to maximize her off day (in her own words). Different maid different preference and pattern like they say.

Hi

Maid agency advised to give helper off day 10am to 7pm so that she can have dinner outside before coming back.

It was a house rule that 2 maid help each other before going off, ie make sure one looking after baby has time to take her breakfast.
Return by 6pm to help.
Usually Fillipino maids left as soon as sun came up, myanmar ones waited for other maid to take breakfast.

I think it is 4off day but if maid is willing to accept ( not forced)
compensation ie 1 off day only but the other 3 Sunday's you have to pay extra. Like $20 per day so it's extra $60 on top of her salary.
